An unusual pair of Sami Laplander Ice Boots from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The curved toe allowed them to attach skis or snowshoes. The Sami (Saami) people inhabited the Nordic Countries.
These boots were made to withstand some of the harshest climates that humans can endure. Whether they are made from seal, whale, caribou, or fish, they can provide the warmth and protection that is needed on snow, land, ice and in water.
